Job Title: IP Systems Engineer Multi-Level Requisition (Intermediate/Principle):

AMERICAN SYSTEMS currently has an opening for a Mid-Level IP Systems Engineer located at Fort Shafter, HI. As important Army NETCOM contractor position, the IP Systems Engineer position will directly support the Army NETCOM World-wide IP-VTC mission of ensuring that its customers have 24/7/365 VTC and VoIP capabilities when needed to conduct important Army warfighting and business information sharing sessions. The candidate will be responsible for all systems engineering needs for the Army NETCOM IP VTC capability located at Ft Shafter, HI. Must have a thorough understanding of systems, server operations and operating systems i.e Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems and platforms. Needs experience with systems and server operations/installation/troubleshooting. Will create Remedy trouble tickets and provide Army Tier II/III customer engineering support as required. The candidate will be expected to provide DoD, Army and industry best practices such as the IT Service Management (ITSM) Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices which aligns IT services with the tactical and business needs of the Army and its customers, clients and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must have experience with DoD security hardening, collection and assessment tools (STIGs, ACAS SCAP, Nessus, etc.)
Will be responsible for systems engineering activities that support DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, and DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT) processes, methodologies and policies.
Conduct Systems Engineering, Configuration Management and Cybersecurity Updates (remotely and on-site) server and systems operating systems related to the IP-VTC task
Evaluate systems and operating system technologies, configurations and connections supporting the IP VTC that provide security and interoperability improvements and optimize systems performance
Assist in creating CAD drawings and blueprints to install systems, server and operating systems and configurations
Develop, update and maintain A\V, IP-VTC and VoIP related systems and server Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), and Enterprise Transition Plans
Ensures systems security and interoperability compliance with DoD and Army regulations and policies
Works independently and as a IP systems engineer; sets priorities and organizes work to meet Army customer deadlines
Follows Army NETCOM organizational processes, polices, and instructions
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Three years (minimum for Intermediate Level) of in-depth hands-on skill in executing systems engineering activities and applying IP systems management methods including end-to-end IT systems performance monitoring; systems architecture and topology
Have a good understanding of DoD security hardening, collection and assessment processes and methodology as they related to DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, and DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT) processes, methodologies and policies
Associates Degree (Intermediate Level) in IT engineering/science/programming systems or related discipline
Must have DoDD 8570 IASAE I/IAT I (CISSP, CCNA, CTS-I/CTS-D or equivalent) certifications
Be a positive, self-motivated, and proactive person with the ability to adapt to change and tolerate stressful situations
Willing to work different shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary
Desired Technical Responsibilities and Requirements:
Has recent and relevant AR 25-2 Information Assurance and Management with regards to systems and server design, implementations and fielding
Understanding of the DoD Architecture Framework DoDAF) and how it relates and impacts Army IT programs and capabilities
Experienced with DoDD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program
Has recent and relevant DoD and Army systems engineering hands-on experience
Exhibits exceptional ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
Acts independently on systems engineering technical matters pertaining to Army NETCOM IP-VTC mission and functions
Provides technical mentorship to junior team members
Interacts closely with Army NETCOM IP-VTC customer representatives on highly advanced technical systems engineering issues
Independently composes and delivers NETCOM IP-VTC related reports and presentations of the highest professional quality
ITIL Foundations Certification desired
