The Operational Language Analyst performs tasks required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT Operations, to include but not limited to:
Scanning of foreign language material and assigning disposition codes in accordance with established guidance;
Transcription of spoken language into the native language or a transliteration system;
Translation of spoken language or graphic material into modern American English in either full or gisted format;
Drafting of SIGINT reports; and
Typing in a foreign language.
This is a contingent position based on funding from the customer.
LEVEL 2 =
Associate of Arts (AA)/Associate of Science (AS) degree or equivalent.
Performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 3 in audio translation and/or text translation from KOREAN into idiomatic, standard American English. Skill level shall be documented within the last two years.
Equivalent of four (4) years full-time experience in Cryptologic Operations performing language processingin the required language(s).Translating and/or transcribing, and gisting shall be the primary duty for at least two (2) of the four (4) years experience.
In lieu of the Associate's Degree an additional two (2) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted.
Reporting shall be the primary duty for no more than one (1) year of the required four (4) years.
Two (2) of the four (4) years experience shall be within the last four (4) years.
One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard.
LEVEL 3
Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent.
Performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 3 in both audio translation and text translation from KOREAN into idiomatic, standard American English. Skill level shall be documented within the last two (2) years.
Equivalent of ten (10) years full-time combined cryptologic language processing, related language, and/or related cryptologicexperience.
In lieu of the Bachelor's Degree an additional four (4) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted.
At least six (6) of the ten (10) years experience shall be in performing Cryptologic Operations language processing; no more than four (4) years shall be in a combination of related language experience and related cryptologic experience.
At least six (6) of the ten (10) years experience shall be in KOREAN; of this, at least four (4) years shall be in cryptologic language processing (no more than two (2) years shall be in related language experience).
At least three (3) of the six (6) years experience in KOREAN shall be in translating and/or transcribing, and gisting.
Experience translating and/or transcribing, and gisting at least two (2) ILR level 3 missions/topics in the required language(s).
At least one (1) of the six (6) years experience in KOREAN shall be in performing quality control review of ILR level 3 audio translations and/or text translations.
Reporting shall be the primary duty for no more than three (3) of the required ten (10) years experience.
At least one (1) year experience mentoring personnel engaged in language processing.
One (1) of the six (6) years experience in KOREAN shall be within the last six (6) years.
One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard.
LEVEL 4
Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent.
Performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 3 in both audio translation and text translation from KOREAN into idiomatic, standard American English. Skill level shall be documented within the last two (2) years.
Equivalent of seventeen (17) years full-time combined cryptologic language processing, related language, and/or related cryptologic experience.
In lieu of the Bachelor's Degree an additional four (4) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted.
At least eight (8) of the seventeen (17) years experience shall be in performing Cryptologic Operations language processing; no more than four (4) years shall be in a combination of related language experience and related cryptologic experience.
At least eight (8) of the seventeen (17) years experience shall be in CHINESE; of this, at least six (6) years shall be in cryptologic language processing (no more than two (2) years shall be in related language experience).
At least five (5) of the eight (8) years experience in KOREAN shall be in translating and/or transcribing, and gisting.
At least three (3) years experience in KOREAN shall be in performing quality control review of both audio translations and text translations at the ILR level 3.
Experience performing quality control on at least three (3) ILR level 3 missions/topics in the required language(s).
Reporting shall be the primary duty for no more than seven (7) of the required seventeen (17) years experience.
At least four (4) years experience mentoring personnel engaged in language processing.
One (1) of the eight (8) years experience in KOREAN shall be within the last six (6) years.
One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard.
Applicants selected for this position will require an active DoD TS/SCI
Full Scope poly to start work _(Individuals possessing a current Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph will be considered for a contract position that requires a full-scope polygraph if they possess a Conditional Certification of Access (CCA) pending the successful completion and adjudication of a full-scope polygrap.)_at a minimum. Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for
access to classified information.
_Acceptable Experience for Operational Language Analyst ALL Skill Levels:_
Performance of the following tasks constitutes acceptable cryptologic language processing
Experience: Within Cryptologic Operations: scanning and sorting/categorizing foreign language materials; recovering essential elements of information; gisting, translating and transcribing; performing quality control of gists, translations and transcripts; mentoring language analysts; compiling and updating operational working aids and databases; and drafting intelligence reports.
Performance of the following tasks constitutes acceptable related language
Experience: oral interpretation (from the required language into English and vice versa); text translation (from the required language into English and vice versa); audio translation (from the required language into English); audio transcription in the required language; document exploitation that involves gisting/translation (from the required language into English); mentoring language analysts; and teaching the required language.
Performance of following tasks constitutes acceptable related cryptologic
Experience: Within Cryptologic Operations: target development; network analysis; speaker identification; language identification; and document exploitation that involves sorting/categorizing/language identification.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
