Job Description Join BAE Systems' Intelligence and Security Sector and be part of an agile team that enables our employees to support our customers and their missions. As a Data Engineer, you will work as the lead data strategist. Data engineers will implement methods to improve data reliability and quality, working to combine raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats. A central responsibility of the Data Engineer is the development and testing of architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling. You will collaborate with an outstanding technical team to propel innovation. Responsibilities include:
Manage lifecycle of architecture used to analyze and process data in accordance with SOPs, TTPs and other such templates. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. Develop and maintain databases. Design new tools to help collect, analyze, and validate data. Productively work within a team of data scientists, analysts, and computer scientists to optimize data flow and consistency across projects. May require TDY over life of the contract. Other possible locations include Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Hawaii, Maryland, Germany, Italy, and South Korea. Two years of experience handling databases and software development is preferred. Experience with Data pipeline/workflow management tools Basic competency of algorithms and data structures, distributed computing, Hadoop cluster management, HDFS, MapReduce, Experience with Stream-processing solutions such as Storm or Spark, big data querying tools, frameworks, messaging systems, and big data toolkits. Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Ruby, C++, Perl, Java, SAS, SPSS, and MATLAB. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field with 5
years of relevant. 5
years intelligence analysis experience (MOS 35/350 series or DoD/IC equivalent). Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
